DEEREC serves as the headquarters of Dao Educational Foundation (DEF) and is named after the founder's parents, the late Dr. Rodolfo 'Doy' Bauson Escutin and Dr. Elena 'Ellen' Ong Escutin. Facing north along Bonifacio Street in Poblacion Ilawod, the center occupies 95 square meters (1023 sq ft) of floor space on the 2nd level and about 70 square meters (754 sq ft) on the ground floor. The center was inaugurated in July 2015 when DEF celebrated its 10th anniversary.
The center houses the Foundation's assets acquired to promote and enhance teaching, learning and research. These include WiFi-enabled laptop computers, LCD/LED projectors, TVs, overhead projectors, microscopes, projection screens, whiteboards, large wall maps, encyclopedias, books and audiovisual media. The versatile 2nd level floor plan can be configured into a lecture room or a computer lab. Small group meetings can be held at the multimedia conference room. The open ground floor level allows hosting a variety of social and educational functions.
